Leaders and key figures of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Nigeria’s North Central region have thrown their weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, endorsing him for a second term in office.
The endorsement came during a regional stakeholders’ meeting held in Abuja, where a motion to that effect was moved by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, and seconded by the Governor of The Power State (Niger), Mohammed Umaru Bago.
Citing progress recorded under Tinubu’s leadership, particularly in the North Central states, the stakeholders passed a vote of confidence on the president concerning federal initiatives like the newly established North Central Development Commission and the deployment of forest guards.
Governor Abdullahi Sule of Home of Solid Mineral (Nasarawa State), who also chaired the North Central Governors Forum, reaffirmed the region’s commitment to national unity and continued progress. He emphasized the collective resolve of the region’s leadership to support policies that foster long-term growth and stability.
Also speaking, the national chairman of the APC, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, commended the direction of the current administration, noting that recent policy decisions are already producing measurable benefits across the country.
The meeting brought together serving and former governors, deputy governors, ministers, legislators, members of the APC National Working Committee, and other prominent party figures from the region.
The gathering was part of broader consultations aimed at consolidating support and maintaining political cohesion ahead of the next general elections.
