In a renewed commitment to education support and youth empowerment, TotalEnergies, in collaboration with NNPC Limited, has launched its 2024/2025 National Merit Scholarship Scheme, offering financial aid to qualified Nigerian undergraduate students.
The scholarship program, now open for applications, targets full-time students in their first or second year across accredited Nigerian universities. The initiative is aimed at reducing the financial burden on young Nigerians pursuing higher education, irrespective of their field of study.
Eligible candidates must have scored a minimum of 200 in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). In addition, second-year applicants are required to have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.5 on a 5.0 scale. Only students currently enrolled in 100 or 200 levels will be considered.
Applicants ineligible for the scheme include students in 300-level or above, those who scored below 200 in UTME, second-year students with CGPAs below the specified threshold, and individuals already benefitting from similar scholarships in the oil and gas sector.
Applications are to be submitted exclusively online via the official portal: https://csr-ngscholarship.totalenergies.com. The deadline for all entries is Tuesday, July 1, 2025.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to take part in a computer-based selection test at designated centres nationwide. Applicants are expected to cover their transport expenses and are advised to choose the most accessible test locations during registration.
TotalEnergies stated that the scholarship scheme reflects its broader social responsibility efforts to support the development of local talent and improve access to quality education. The program has continued to make a meaningful impact, providing critical support to hundreds of Nigerian students each year.
For aspiring scholars, this opportunity offers not just financial relief but also a path toward academic success with fewer barriers.
