This development was disclosed in a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, following the official commissioning ceremony held in Abuja.

The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, led the event, commissioning a newly built mechanical workshop at Dei-Dei in the Federal Capital Territory. The facility is designed to maintain and repair operational vehicles, ensuring faster response to emergencies and improved field operations.

At the Force Headquarters, the IGP also unveiled a fleet of tactical vehicles, including anti-riot water cannon trucks and Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs), aimed at reinforcing the mobility and readiness of police units during high-risk deployments.

In his remarks, Egbetokun reiterated the commitment of the police to safeguarding the nation and warned individuals and groups fomenting unrest that the Force would take decisive action against any threats to national peace.

“The Police will respond with precision and speed. Anyone trying to destabilize the country should be ready to face the full weight of the law,” the IGP said.
