The Sunshine State (Ondo) Civil Service Commission has announced vacancies for the position of Forest and Produce Officers under the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. The move is part of efforts to strengthen the state’s agricultural workforce, particularly in the forestry and produce management sub-sector.
In an official statement issued in Akure on Monday, the Commission called on interested and qualified graduates to collect application forms from the Appointment Registry at its headquarters in Alagbaka. The deadline for submission has been set for Tuesday, 15th July 2025.
Applicants must hold relevant degrees from recognized universities. For the Forest Officer role, acceptable qualifications include degrees in Forestry, Forest Resource Management, Agriculture, Agronomy, Plant Zoology, Botany/Biology, Forest Engineering, Forest Utilization, Timber Technology, or Wood Science.
Candidates applying for the position of Produce Officer must possess degrees in Agricultural or Biological Sciences.
All applicants are required to have completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program or provide evidence of exemption. In addition, candidates must:
Be physically and mentally fit,
Be no older than 45 years,
Submit a valid Certificate of State of Origin,
Present a Birth Certificate or a sworn Age Declaration.
The Commission has urged only eligible candidates to apply, warning that applications that do not meet the stated criteria will not be considered.
This recruitment drive is seen as a step toward enhancing the state’s capacity in forest and produce management, in line with the administration’s focus on agricultural development and environmental preservation.
