State Governor of the Centre of Excellence (Lagos), Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Wednesday commissioned two significant road projects in Alimosho Local Government Area: Abaranje Road in Igando-Ikotun and the newly named Babajide Sanwo-Olu Road in Dopemu.

Abaranje Road, once riddled with potholes and prone to flooding, has been reconstructed into a dual carriageway. The completed project features drainage channels, street lighting, and pedestrian walkways, offering long-awaited relief to residents and road users.

In Dopemu, the governor inaugurated a 1.8-kilometre stretch designed to ease congestion and improve vehicular movement in the densely populated area.

“These roads mean quicker commutes, safer walks, better business, and real relief for residents and commuters,” Sanwo-Olu said.

While in the area, the governor also inspected the Ikotun Roundabout, a well-known choke point in the state’s traffic grid. He revealed ongoing plans for a flyover bridge to address the persistent congestion, promising a durable solution that will serve the area’s growing population.

Sanwo-Olu assured the people of Alimosho that the projects marked only the beginning of further development in the axis, stressing that no community in Lagos would be left behind
