Activities marking the first 100 days in office of the Executive Chairman of Olorunda Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Badagry, Lagos State, Hon. Peter Ajose, and his Vice, Hon. Adele Solomon, commenced on Wednesday with the commissioning of several community-based projects across the council area.
Our correspondent, who monitored the events across different communities, reports that the projects unveiling commenced with the formal commissioning of the fully reconstructed Imeke Multi-Purpose Community Town Hall, completed within the first 100 days of the current administration.
The commissioning attracted traditional rulers, political leaders and residents. In their goodwill messages, the Ajagun of Imeke Kingdom, Oba (Dr.) Abraham Olatunji Ogabi, Oyikilu I, former Lagos State Commissioner for Finance, Hon. Akinyemi Ashade, and other dignitaries expressed appreciation to the council chairman for what they described as his show of goodwill and concern for the development of the kingdom.
The chairman also commissioned the Ilado/Ayede/Yeponawa Primary Healthcare Centre, describing the facility as dedicated “to the Glory of God and for the good use of the people of the communities.”
He pledged to address the poor condition of the access road in the area and assured residents of the supply and installation of solar-powered lighting at the health centre.
In Mowo community, Hon. Ajose performed the official opening of Old Aradagun Road to signal the immediate commencement of asphalt laying. Community leaders and residents who witnessed the event applauded the project, noting its importance to vehicular movement within the area.
The council chairman used the occasion to urge residents to ensure they are registered voters and to take part in the ongoing voter registration exercise, with Phase Two expected to commence in January 2026.
He also carried out the groundbreaking for the proposed construction of a new healthcare building at Morogbo Primary Healthcare Centre, intended to replace the existing structure, described as too weak for renovation. Another groundbreaking was performed for the proposed Aradagun Community Hall, alongside other infrastructure works across the council.
Other projects executed within the first 100 days include the renovation and furnishing of the chairman’s office, the vice chairman’s office, the office of the leader of the legislative arm and the chieftaincy chamber. The administration also organised in-house training for council staff and distributed free GCE forms to indigent students.
Addressing journalists at a press briefing earlier at the council secretariat, Hon. Ajose restated his commitment to grassroots development, staff welfare and the delivery of democratic dividends. He outlined policy focus areas covering infrastructure, education, healthcare, youth and women empowerment, agriculture, food security, security, community safety, digital governance, environmental sustainability, rural development, staff welfare, water supply and sanitation.
He disclosed that work is ongoing on the construction of public toilets in strategic locations to tackle sanitation challenges, noting that enforcement of environmental cleanliness would follow completion of the project.
“This 100 Days celebration has provided an opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to accountable governance and to call on the media to remain critical partners in progress as we collectively work to take Olorunda to greater heights.”
Activities marking the 100 days in office of Hon. Peter Ajose and his vice, Hon. Adele Solomon, continue on December 18, 2026.
