The National Identity Management Commission has called on parents and guardians to ensure that children and wards who have reached the age of 16 visit authorised enrolment centres to complete the migration of their National Identification Number records.

The advisory, issued by the commission, explained that the exercise is required for the activation of full NIN functionality, a step that affects access to official services tied to the national identity system.

In the notice, the commission stated: “Children and wards who are 16 years and above are required to visit the nearest enrolment centre for NIN migration to activate full NIN functionality.”

NIMC urged families to comply promptly by approaching the nearest enrolment point nationwide, noting that the migration process is age-based and mandatory for eligible holders.

The commission also reminded the public to rely only on approved enrolment centres and official communication channels for guidance on the exercise.
