The Oyo State Government has ordered the early closure of offices across all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to allow public officers to take part in the grand finale of events marking the 50th anniversary of the state’s creation.
The directive was announced in a statement issued on Monday by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Musibau Adetunji Babatunde.
The statement said all state government offices are to close by 12:00 noon on Tuesday, February 3, 2026.
The approval, the government explained, was given by Governor Seyi Makinde as part of preparations for the golden jubilee celebration tagged OyoStateAt50.
Heads of MDAs were directed to ensure full compliance with the order, while putting in place skeletal services in critical sectors where required.
Babatunde also called for a wide dissemination of the directive to ensure awareness and compliance across the state.
The statement was made available by the Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, and dated February 2, 2026.
