Nigerian pilgrims travelling from the Southern Zone for the 2027 Hajj will pay ₦7.88 million, the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced.
The commission disclosed this in a public notice dated August 14, 2026, announcing approved fares for the three departure zones and payment deadlines for intending pilgrims and states.
Pilgrims departing from the Northern Zone will pay ₦7.67 million, while those travelling from Maiduguri/Yola Zone will pay ₦7.56 million.
NAHCON said the fares were approved by the Federal Government after consultations with the Forum of State Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards and key service providers in Saudi Arabia.
The commission also said prevailing exchange rates and service costs were considered in determining the charges.
For intending pilgrims who had already deposited ₦5 million, NAHCON directed them to pay the outstanding balances to complete their registration.
New registrants, it said, should make payments through their respective State Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards, Agencies or Commissions, or through any approved Hajj Savings Scheme participating bank.
The commission also set September 26, 2026, as the final deadline for uploading intending pilgrims’ biometric data on the designated Nusuk-Masar digital platform.
“NAHCON has fixed September 26, 2026, as the final and absolute deadline for the complete upload of intending pilgrims’ biometric data on the designated Nusuk-Masar digital platform,” it stated.
States are also required to complete remittance of all 2027 Hajj fares by December 2, 2026.
NAHCON warned that there would be no extension, noting that “data synchronization and seat allocations depend entirely on timely remittances.”
The commission further cautioned that failure to meet the prescribed deadlines would lead to the loss of allocated Hajj slots.
“The Commission wishes to emphasize that failure to meet the set deadlines will result in forfeiture of the allocated Hajj slots,” the notice stated.
