Centre of Excellence — Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has extended warm congratulations to the Elegushi of Ikate-Elegushi Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi, Kusenla III, as he marks 15 years on the throne.
In a message conveyed through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, Governor Sanwo-Olu, speaking on behalf of himself, his wife, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, and the people of the Centre of Excellence (Lagos State) praised the monarch for his outstanding service and devotion to community development.
Describing Oba Elegushi as a forward-thinking leader, the governor highlighted the monarch’s steadfast commitment to public service and his strong sense of duty toward his people. He noted that the traditional ruler’s unwavering dedication over the past 15 years has positively impacted the Ikate-Elegushi Kingdom.
Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized that the people of the kingdom are fortunate to have a ruler who is compassionate, approachable, and deeply invested in their welfare. He lauded Oba Elegushi for living a life of purpose, filled with numerous achievements that have benefited his community.
Reflecting on Oba Elegushi’s journey since ascending the throne, the governor acknowledged his significant contributions to both the advancement of Ikate-Elegushi and the broader Lagos community. He described the monarch as part of a new generation of traditional leaders who work closely with government authorities, championing public initiatives and strengthening the connection between grassroots communities and policymakers.
As the monarch celebrates this milestone, Governor Sanwo-Olu offered prayers for continued wisdom, sound health, and enduring peace in Ikate-Elegushi under Oba Elegushi’s reign. He expressed confidence that the years ahead would bring even greater progress for the kingdom under the king’s stewardship.
