The Federal Government of Nigeria has strongly condemned the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, South Kashmir, which left 26 people dead and several others injured. Most of the victims were tourists visiting the area.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nigeria described the attack as a painful reminder of the ongoing threat posed by terrorism around the world. The ministry’s spokesperson, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, who signed the statement, stressed the need for global cooperation to tackle violent extremism.
“Nigeria has faced similar challenges in the past and understands the deep pain such acts cause. We believe this is a time for nations to work together more closely to protect lives and ensure security,” the statement read.
The government extended its condolences to the families of the victims and the people of India, affirming Nigeria’s support in the global effort to build a more peaceful and secure world.
