Hon. Ajose Peter Kumayon has emerged as the Chairman-elect of Olorunda Local Council Development Area (LCDA) following Saturday’s local government elections, securing what he described as a “collective triumph of the people.”

Speaking at a press conference held at his campaign office in Mowo, Ajose expressed deep gratitude to the electorate, attributing the victory to divine grace and the collective resolve of residents across communities in the LCDA.

“This victory is not mine alone — it is a collective success,” he said, promising to uphold the confidence reposed in him by the People.

Ajose paid tribute to the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), from the national to local levels, with special mention of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and APC Lagos State Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi. He also commended the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) for conducting what he described as a peaceful and credible election.

The incoming chairman acknowledged the role of the outgoing chairman, Hon. Samson Olatunde, and pledged to build on the foundations laid during the previous administration. He also extended appreciation to traditional rulers within the LCDA, including the Onilogbo of Ilogbo, Onibereko of Ibereko, Oniworo of Iworo, and others, noting their continued support for community advancement.

Ajose highlighted the unprecedented voter turnout, stating that the just-concluded poll recorded the highest number of votes ever cast in Olorunda LCDA’s electoral history. He described this as a clear signal that residents were eager for a responsive and accountable leadership.

He called for unity among all stakeholders, extending a hand of collaboration to his fellow contestants and urging them to join in moving the council forward.

Looking ahead, Ajose outlined key focus areas for his administration: access to quality education, improved healthcare, empowerment initiatives for youth and women, infrastructure development, and transparent governance.

“This is not the end of a campaign — it is the beginning of a new journey of service, partnership, and transformational leadership,” he said.

The chairman-elect closed with a pledge to honor the trust of the people with dedication and integrity.
