Hon. Ajose who hails from Mowo town in Badagry, shared his agenda during an interactive session with some Nigerian Press at his campaign office. He described the plan, tagged RESHAPE, as a people-driven framework that targets key sectors affecting daily life in Olorunda LCDA.

The chairmanship candidate who retired as a deputy director in the Lagos State Civil Service, traced his journey from L.A. Primary School, Mowo, to Badagry Grammar School, and later, the University of Lagos. He completed his National Youth Service in Ibadan, Oyo State, before returning to Badagry in 1992. Two years later, he joined the local government as a caretaker committee member.

Over the years, Ajose served in several ministries, including the Ministry of Environment, where he began his civil service career with the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA). He later worked at the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the Ministry of Establishment, Training and Pensions, and eventually retired from public service as a deputy director in the Ministry of Environment.

Outlining the RESHAPE agenda, hon. Ajose broke it down into the following components:

Rural Development: He pledged to rehabilitate and construct access roads and work closely with Community Development Associations (CDAs) to identify local needs and implement tailored solutions.

Education: The campaign promises to drive school enrollment and retention under a policy titled Operation Catch Them Young, with a focus on keeping children in school and supporting their academic progression.

Staff Welfare: Kumayon promised better working conditions for council staff, including incentives designed to boost morale and enhance service delivery.

Health: Improvement of primary healthcare services across the LCDA was highlighted as a priority area, with plans to make health facilities more accessible and better equipped.

Agriculture: He announced plans to support local farmers through expert guidance, improved access to farming equipment, and stronger cooperative structures to increase productivity and ensure food availability.

Poverty Alleviation and Youth Development: According to Hon. Ajose Targeted empowerment programs for women and young people will be rolled out to tackle unemployment and promote self-reliance.

Entertainment and Recreation: He also promised to develop recreational centers and sports facilities where young people can harness their talents and engage in productive activities.

As the Lagos state local government and local council development areas elections draw near, Hon. Peter Ajose urged eligible voters’ participation, urging them to ensure they are properly registered, especially those who have relocated and need to update their voter information.

Hon. Ajose reaffirmed Olorunda LCDA’s unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, expressing optimism in the APC’s ability to deliver on its promises at all levels.
