The Federal Government has announced Friday, June 6, and Monday, June 9, 2025, as public holidays in observance of this year’s Eid-ul-Adha.
The Political Head (Minister) of the Ministry of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made this known in Abuja while extending warm greetings to Muslims across Nigeria and beyond. He urged the faithful to reflect on the values of devotion and selflessness demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him).
Minister Tunji-Ojo encouraged Muslims to dedicate time during the celebrations to pray for the country’s unity, progress, and prosperity. He also appealed to citizens to support ongoing national efforts aimed at steering the country toward a brighter future under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He reiterated that the reforms introduced under the current administration are designed to reposition Nigeria for meaningful development.
The Minister wished the Muslim community a joyful celebration and called on all Nigerians to contribute positively to the collective task of nation-building.
The statement was signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, and dated June 2, 2025.
