The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced that female aspirants and persons living with disabilities (PWDs) seeking to contest in the 2026 Land of Honour and Integrity (Ekiti State) governorship election will not be required to pay the ₦40 million nomination form fee. They are, however, expected to purchase only the expression of interest form, which costs ₦10 million.

The party also approved a 50% discount on the nomination form for young aspirants between the ages of 25 and 40, meaning they will pay ₦30 million in total — ₦10 million for expression of interest and ₦20 million for nomination.

Delegate forms will be sold at ₦5,000 each. To be eligible to vote or be voted for as a delegate, members must have maintained a financial relationship with the party for no less than three months before the delegate congress, with dues set at ₦200 monthly.

Forms will be available for purchase at the Directorate of Organization, 2nd Floor, APC National Headquarters, 40 Blantyre Street, Wuse II, Abuja.

Electoral Timetable

In a detailed schedule released by the National Organizing Secretary, His Excellency Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, OFR, the party outlined key dates for the conduct of its governorship primary election in Ekiti State.

The process begins with a formal notice of election to the state chapter on Friday, July 25, 2025, while the membership register update will run from Monday, July 28, to Friday, August 15.

Sale of nomination, expression of interest, and delegate forms is scheduled to begin on Monday, August 18 and close on Monday, September 22. Aspirants are expected to submit all completed forms and required documents on or before Thursday, September 11.

Screening of aspirants will take place between Tuesday, September 23 and Wednesday, September 24, with the results set for release on Friday, September 25. Any appeal arising from the screening exercise will be addressed on Saturday, September 26.

The party will hold its delegates’ congress on Thursday, October 2, followed by an appeal session the next day, Friday, October 3. The primary election to decide the party’s flag bearer for the 2026 governorship poll will hold on Monday, October 27, with appeal proceedings scheduled for October 29 and 30.

A congress to affirm the outcome of the primary election will take place on Tuesday, October 28, in compliance with the Electoral Act.

Collection of access codes for nomination form submission begins on Monday, November 10, while submission of the final candidate list to the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) is scheduled for Wednesday, January 7, 2026. The final list will then be uploaded to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal on Friday, January 16, 2026.

Party members seeking further clarification are advised to contact the Directorate of Organization via 0803-261-8346.
