The disclosure was made in a statement issued on Monday by the Federal Ministry of Education, following the approval of the programme by the Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa.

The ministry said registration for the National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) into Federal Technical Colleges will begin on Monday, January 26, 2026, and end on Sunday, May 24, 2026, while the examination is scheduled to be held across the country on Saturday, June 6, 2026.

According to the statement, interested candidates are expected to complete their applications through the official online portal of the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB). It added that a valid National Identification Number (NIN) is compulsory and remains a requirement for successful registration.

The Federal Government restated that tuition in all Federal Technical Colleges is fully funded upon admission, describing the policy as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen skills acquisition, empower young people and improve national output.

It noted that admission is open to candidates between the ages of 13 and 20, while parents, guardians and applicants were urged to follow all stated guidelines and obtain information only from the Federal Ministry of Education and approved examination bodies.

The ministry also reaffirmed its resolve to widen access to quality technical education aimed at promoting self-reliance, supporting economic growth and advancing sustainable national development.
