YOLA/LAGOS — Modibbo Adama University, Yola and the International School, University of Lagos have announced job openings across a range of academic and non-teaching roles as both institutions prepare for the next academic session.

MAUTECH Invites Applications Across Multiple Faculties

Modibbo Adama University, Yola, has declared openings for teaching and non-teaching roles, welcoming applications from qualified individuals nationwide. Originally established in 1981 as the Federal University of Technology, Yola, the university has undergone several transitions, regaining independence in 1988 and adopting its current name in 2011.

The institution, situated in Adamawa State, runs programs in science, engineering, law, education, medical sciences, the humanities, and social sciences. The newly announced recruitment drive spans several faculties.

Academic Vacancies

Positions are available from Assistant Lecturer to Professor, with academic requirements varying by rank. A Master’s degree with a CGPA of at least 3.50 is required for entry-level roles, while higher positions demand a Ph.D. and a track record of academic publications. Engineering applicants are encouraged to hold registration with relevant professional bodies such as COREN.

Prospective staff from professional sectors outside academia are eligible if they possess sufficient experience and verifiable publications.

Vacancies cut across departments including:

Agriculture: Crop Production, Forestry, Fisheries, Horticulture, Food Science

Arts: English, Linguistics

Communication & Media: Journalism, Mass Communication, Broadcasting

Computing: Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence

Education: Science Education, Technology Education, Educational Foundations

Engineering: Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Agricultural & Environmental

Environmental Sciences: Architecture, Surveying, Building, Industrial Design

Law: Public, Private, and Sharia Law

Life Sciences & Medicine: Anatomy, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Zoology, Plant Science

Social & Management Sciences: Political Science, Marketing, Finance, Sociology

Non-Teaching Openings

Opportunities are also available for laboratory technologists in both medical and general science fields. Applicants must hold an HND, B.Sc., or B.Tech. in Science Laboratory Technology, in addition to a valid NYSC certificate.

Applications must be submitted online through the official portal: https://mau.org.ng/recruitment/. Candidates are required to upload their CV, academic records, NYSC certificate, birth certificate, and proof of state of origin. Only applications made via the portal will be considered. The submission deadline is four weeks from the date of this notice. Multiple submissions will lead to disqualification.

UNILAG International School Opens Recruitment for New Session

Meanwhile, in Lagos, the International School, University of Lagos (ISL), has advertised vacancies for both academic and administrative roles in preparation for the upcoming academic term.

The school is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Accountant as well as Assistant Tutors in several subjects, including Basic Technology/Technical Drawing, Physical and Health Education, Mathematics, Fine Arts, Government/Civic Education, and Geography.

Accountant Role

Applicants must hold a B.Sc. or HND in Accounting from a recognized institution and possess a professional certification such as ICAN. Six years of post-qualification experience in a reputable organization is required, along with an NYSC discharge certificate or exemption, and five O’Level credits including English and Mathematics in no more than two sittings.

Assistant Tutor Roles

Interested candidates should possess a first degree in Education or its equivalent, such as B.Ed, B.A (Ed), B.Sc (Ed), or a relevant degree plus a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE). A valid TRCN certificate and NYSC discharge or exemption are mandatory. Candidates must also hold at least five O’Level credits, including English and Mathematics. Prior teaching experience is considered a plus.
