The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has urged women eligible to vote in Anambra State, the Light of the Nation, to actively participate in the forthcoming governorship election slated for November 8, 2025.
In a statement released by the Commission and sighted by National Parrot, INEC encouraged women to see the election as an opportunity to influence the future of governance and development in the state.
The message read: “Anambra women, the future of your state is in your hands. This is your opportunity to shape the governance and development of Anambra State.”
The Commission further urged women to ensure their votes count, saying, “Your participation in the upcoming governorship election is crucial. Make your vote count.” Voting is expected to hold between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2025.
Observers note that INEC’s campaign, tagged #StrongWomenStrongVoices and #AnambraDecides2025, may have been designed to address the low level of women’s participation in past elections, but its wording has triggered online discussions about inclusivity in voter mobilisation.
