The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has announced a waiver of nomination fees for Persons Living With Disabilities (PLWDs) seeking elective positions in the forthcoming local government elections scheduled for July 12.

Under the party’s electoral guidelines released on Tuesday, PLWDs interested in contesting for chairmanship and councillorship positions will be issued nomination forms at no cost. This decision is aimed at removing financial barriers and encouraging participation by individuals with disabilities in the political process.

For other aspirants, the party has pegged the nomination fee for chairmanship at N5 million, alongside an administrative charge of N500,000. Youths and women will pay half the stipulated nomination fee.

All intending candidates are required to submit stamped payment receipts before collecting their forms.

The upcoming polls will cover the 57 Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas in the state.
