Governor Seyi Makinde of the Pace Setter State (Oyo) has reorganized his executive council, reassigning key members of his cabinet to new portfolios in a move aimed at refreshing governance in the state.
The development was announced in a statement issued by the governor’s Chief of Staff, Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi, on Monday.
Under the new arrangement, Barrister Seun Ashamu, previously overseeing Energy and Mineral Resources, has been posted to the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources. In his place, Prof. Dahud Shangodoyin, who formerly held the Public Works, Infrastructure, and Transport portfolio, will now head the Energy and Mineral Resources ministry.
Meanwhile, Hon. Abdulmojeed Mogbonjubola has been moved from Environment and Natural Resources to take charge of the Ministry of Public Works, Infrastructure, and Transport.
The shuffle also affects the education sector. Prof. Solihu Adelabu, formerly Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, will now lead the Ministry of Establishments and Training, while Hon. Segun Olayiwola transitions from Establishments to the Education, Science and Technology ministry.
All changes are to take effect immediately. Governor Makinde urged the affected officials to rededicate themselves to their responsibilities and continue serving the people of Oyo State with full commitment.
