The Political Head (Commissioner) of the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources in the Centre of Excellence (Lagos), Tokunbo Wahab, who disclosed this, said the suspect was caught in the act and will be charged without delay.

Commissioner Wahab condemned the behavior, describing it as a serious threat to public safety. He warned that actions like this contribute to the perennial problem of flooding in parts of the state, endangering lives and damaging property.

“Dumping waste in canals is a recipe for flooded homes. We will never tolerate this reckless endangerment of communities,” he said.

The Commissioner also issued a stern warning to others engaging in similar acts, stating that surveillance and enforcement are ongoing across the state.
