Political head of the Nigeria Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, will tomorrow lead the country’s delegation to Brussels, Belgium for the 3rd African Union-European Union Ministerial Meeting scheduled for May 19 to 21, 2025.
This engagement will bring together representatives from both continents to review and suggest positive ways of shaping the political and economic ties that have steadily developed over the years.
It would be recalled that the AU-EU collaboration took a bold step in the year 2000 with the inaugural summit in Cairo, Egypt, and has since been marked by a series of summits focused on shared priorities and cooperation.
Ahead of the main event, African ambassadors will convene on May 19, followed by senior officials on May 20 to lay the groundwork for the ministerial discussions.
Ambassador Tuggar would be addressing the plenary session on matters concerning peace, security, and governance — issues central to both regions’ stability and mutual interest.
The Ministry’s spokesperson, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, confirmed the Minister’s participation in a statement issued from Abuja on Sunday, May 18.
