Minister of Marine and Blue Economy and former Governor of the Land of Virtue (Osun), Adegboyega Oyetola, has called on members and leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state to remain focused on the shared goal of repositioning the party for electoral success.
Oyetola made this appeal on Friday during a strategic stakeholders’ meeting held at the Ilerioluwa Campaign Office in Osogbo. He stressed the importance of internal harmony, discipline, and cooperation among party members, particularly those with political ambitions.
He reminded aspirants and stakeholders that the real task ahead is to win back control of the state from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), urging party loyalists to see themselves as allies rather than opponents.
“We must rise above our differences. The mission before us requires collective effort. If we are to reclaim Osun, we must stand together and build on the foundation of development and leadership we laid in the past.” he said.
Oyetola also advised the recently reinstated local government chairmen and councilors to uphold the law and demonstrate integrity in their duties. He emphasized that adherence to democratic norms and respect for due process would strengthen public confidence in the party.
The minister further encouraged party members to remain steadfast in their support for the APC and align with the ongoing reforms championed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
The meeting was attended by notable figures including Engr. Sola Akinwunmi, Chairman of Igbimo Agba Osun (Elders’ Council); Osun APC Chairman, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal; former Deputy Governors, Chief Mrs. Grace Titilayo Laoye Ponle and Mr. Benedict Olugboyega Alabi; Chief Shuaib Oyedokun; former House of Assembly Speakers, Rt. Hon. Wale Afolabi, Rt. Hon. Adejare Bello, and Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye.
Also present were members of the Osun APC State Executive Committee, the Agba Osun caucus, local government party chairmen, and the reinstated council chairmen.
The gathering ended with a unified pledge by party leaders to work collaboratively, maintain internal order, and prepare strategically for the political contests ahead.
