He gave the assurance while speaking at the Oyo State Youth Summit held in Ibadan, an event convened by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development under the theme “Unlocking Youth Potential, Addressing Needs, Fulfilling Dreams.”

In his remarks, Governor Makinde underscored the importance of harnessing the energy and talent of the youth to build a stronger economy. Sharing insights from his journey, he identified education, entrepreneurship, and large-scale production as critical elements for meaningful youth engagement and long-term development.

He noted that young people when equipped with the right tools and opportunities, hold the capacity to reshape not only their futures but also contribute meaningfully to the state’s growth.

Earlier in the program, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Miss Wasilat Adegoke, urged participants to remain focused and persistent in their pursuit of purpose. She commended the governor for his consistent efforts toward improving the lives of young people across the state.

The summit featured the presentation of awards to individuals recognized for their contributions to youth development. Among the awardees were Governor Makinde, Chief of Staff to the governor, Hon. Segun Ogunwuyi, and Miss Ololade Ajibola, a Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Special Duties.

The event also included music, cultural displays, and a series of panel discussions that addressed key issues affecting the youth.
