The Police Service Commission (PSC) has declared that it has not begun any recruitment exercise for police officers in 2025, describing the widely circulated claims on social media as false and deceptive.

In a statement issued on Sunday, August 3rd, the Commission emphasized that the reports inviting applications for recruitment are not only misleading but also aimed at exploiting unsuspecting Nigerians.

“The Commission has not commenced this exercise and obviously will follow established procedures and processes when it is ready. It hereby advises prospective candidates to ignore the publications and wait for official communication,” said Ikechukwu Ani, Head of Press and Public Relations.

The PSC condemned the recurring spread of misinformation tied to recruitment activities, warning those behind the fake announcements to desist or face legal consequences.

It also stressed that when recruitment begins, it will be open, clear, and conducted within the framework of laid-down rules.

The Commission called on aspiring applicants to disregard any unofficial posts and remain alert for genuine updates from its official platforms.

“The fraudsters are warned to stay off Commission’s programmes as they would be fished out and sanctioned according to law,” the PSC warned.
