In a bold move to address housing challenges in the Centre of Excellence (Lagos), Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Monday, commissioned two major major residential projects in Surulere, comprising the LBIC/Megamound Greater Lagos Apartments at Obele-Oniwala and the LBIC/Crown Exquisite Homes at Olaleye New-Town, Iponri.
The governor described the projects as a testament to the progress achievable through unity of purpose and collaboration, crediting the successful delivery of the homes to partnerships with the private sector, which he said have brought not just shelter but stability and dignity to many residents.
According to Governor Sanwo-Olu, the Greater Lagos Apartments comprise 378 units, offering one-two, and three-bedroom options, while the Crown Exquisite Homes feature 64 four-bedroom maisonettes. He noted that the variety of offerings reflects the state’s sensitivity to diverse housing needs.
The Lagos state governor acknowledged the roles played by Megamound Investment Limited and Crown Exquisite Homes & Property Limited, commending their efforts in bringing the projects to fruition.
He emphasized the importance of teamwork and professional execution in delivering public-private housing initiatives in the Centre of Excellence (Lagos), for Lagosians’ benefit.
Looking ahead, the governor revealed that the Lagos Building Investment Company (LBIC) has more developments underway, all designed to provide long-term value and affordability, while also reiterating his administration’s resolve to steadily reduce the housing deficit in the state.
He concluded with a call to residents and stakeholders to remain united in building a better future for Lagos and generations yet to come.
The statement read: “Today, we commissioned the LBIC/Megamound Greater Lagos Apartments at Obele-Oniwala, and the LBIC/Crown Exquisite Homes at Olaleye New-Town, Iponri, in Surulere.
“These developments speak to what’s possible when we stay focused and work together. Through collaboration with our private sector partners, we’ve delivered housing units and a sense of stability and dignity for hundreds of Lagosians.
“The Greater Lagos Apartments consist of 378 one, two, and three-bedroom units. The Crown Exquisite Homes offer 64 four-bedroom maisonettes. These are different homes for different needs because we understand that one size doesn’t fit all.
“These projects were made possible through partnerships with Megamound Investment Limited and Crown Exquisite Homes & Property Limited, and I thank both teams for their professionalism and commitment.
“We’re not stopping here. LBIC has more projects on the way, all designed to be functional, affordable, and built to last. We remain committed to closing the housing gap in Lagos, one step at a time.
“Let’s keep building together for a Greater Lagos, and for generations to come.”
