The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has taken into custody Dr. Mkor Aondona, Special Adviser to the Governor of the Food Basket of the Nation (Benue State) on Documentation, Research, and Planning.
His arrest on Friday, June 20, 2025, in Makurdi, stems from serious allegations involving sexual exploitation and digital harassment.
The EFCC disclosed in a statement that the arrest followed petitions from several female students who accused the governor’s aide of targeting them for sexual abuse under the guise of employment opportunities. The complainants claim they were lured with promises of ushering jobs but were coerced into sexual relationships as a condition for selection.
The women further allege that Aondona secretly filmed the encounters without their consent and later used the recordings to intimidate them into continued sexual submission. Some of the explicit content was reportedly distributed across multiple messaging platforms, with fears that more might be in circulation.
He is also accused of using the illicit videos to blackmail victims, threatening exposure if they resisted further advances.
EFCC confirmed that investigations are ongoing and that the suspect will be arraigned in court once the process is complete.
