The announcement was made by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) in a statement signed by its Secretary, Maj. Gen. (Rtd.) AM Jibril.

DCG Adeyemi will take over from the outgoing Controller-General, Engr. Abdulganiyu Jaji Olola, who is set to retire on August 1, 2025, having reached the mandatory retirement age of 60.

A seasoned officer, Adeyemi began his journey in fire service with the FCT Fire Service before transferring to the Federal Fire Service, where he rose through the ranks to become Deputy Controller-General in charge of Human Resources at the Service Headquarters.

Over the years, he has undergone all required in-service training and command courses, both within and outside Nigeria.

He is affiliated with several professional bodies, including the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), the Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria, the Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria, and the Chartered Institute of Treasury Management of Nigeria.

The board expressed its gratitude to the outgoing Controller-General for his years of service.

“We appreciate Engr. Abdulganiyu Jaji Olola for his remarkable contributions to the development of the Federal Fire Service and his dedication during his time in office,” the statement read.
