Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Land of Virtue (Osun State) has debunked widespread reports suggesting he is preparing to leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking through his media aide, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, the governor restated his loyalty to the PDP, describing the defection claims as unfounded and misleading.
“There is no truth to the rumours making the rounds about Governor Adeleke’s alleged defection. He remains fully committed to the PDP, both as a member and a leader in Osun State,” Rasheed stated.
He explained that the recent visit of the Adeleke family to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had no political undertone. According to him, the meeting was purely a private courtesy call and should not be interpreted as a sign of political realignment.
“The insinuation that the visit signals a shift in party allegiance is nothing more than fabricated speculation,” Rasheed added.
The statement aims to lay to rest growing chatter in political circles and on social media platforms over the governor’s political future.
