23 Arrested as EFCC Dismantles Yahoo Hub in Abia

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Uyo Zonal Command, have uncovered a suspected internet fraud training centre in Umuahia, Abia (God’s Own State), leading to the arrest of 23 individuals.

The facility, called Yahoo-Yahoo Hustle Kingdom, was discovered on Friday, July 18, 2025, at Doofco Palace building, behind Government College, Umuahia. Eight of those arrested were reportedly undergoing training at the time of the raid, while others were picked up from different parts of the city, including Umudike, Ahiaeke, and Umugu.

Those arrested at the centre include: Toona Henry, Tavershima Solomon, Chi Orseer James, Ubee Benjamin, Gabriel Ibe Ifeanyi, Tindue Godwin, Muhammed Terwase Micheal, and Destiny Andrew.

Others are: Okezie Almond, Precious Osmond, Kenneth Prospect, Iweobi Chika Augustine, Nedolisa Victor, Kanu Austin, Anolu David, Collins Chinedu, Joshua Nnamdi, Ogechi Chibuzor, Michael Chinonso, Prince Chigozie, Festus Nwogu, Michael Lazarus, and Kingsley Ndubuisi.

The EFCC disclosed that the arrests were based on credible intelligence. Items recovered during the operation include two cars, 15 laptops, and 34 mobile phones.

The agency said the suspects will be arraigned in court atfer investigations.
