Acting on intelligence, officers from the Uyo Zonal Command stormed Ariam and Ubakala communities in Abia State on Thursday, May 29, where 30 suspects were rounded up in a coordinated operation.

During the raid, operatives seized several items believed to be proceeds of criminal activity, including four vehicles, 42 mobile phones, three laptops, an iPad, an external hard drive, and a sound system.

EFCC sources confirmed that investigations are ongoing and that the suspects will face charges in court upon the conclusion of preliminary findings.

In a separate operation, five more suspects were arrested in Kano by personnel from the Commission’s Zonal Command in the state. The arrests took place on Tuesday, May 27, at the Farm Centre area of the city.

The Kano operation followed credible leads indicating the suspects’ alleged involvement in online scams and other financial offenses. Mobile phones recovered from the scene are currently being examined as part of the inquiry.

All suspects are expected to be arraigned as soon as investigations are finalized.
