The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has reaffirmed its strong commitment to expanding oil and gas activities across northern Nigeria.
Speaking during a government-citizen dialogue convened by the Sir Ahmadu Bello Foundation in Kaduna on Wednesday, Yusuf Usman, a director at the company, said NNPCL is sustaining momentum in its northern operations.
Usman stated that four wells have already been drilled in the Kolmani area of Bauchi State. He explained that the company is now assessing the best technology for the next stage of drilling.
He also spoke on the Federal Government’s drive to promote alternative fuel sources through the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) initiative. According to him, NNPCL is constructing five CNG and Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) plants in Kogi State as part of efforts to expand gas supply and availability in the North.
The forum was part of an ongoing engagement designed to deepen collaboration between government and citizens on national development priorities.
