The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has formally petitioned the Attorney-General of the Federation and the Inspector-General of Police to launch a criminal investigation and prosecute popular Fuji musician, King Wasiu Omogbolahan Olasunkanmi Adewale Ayinde Marshal, widely known as K1 De Ultimate.

The request follows an incident on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, aboard ValueJet flight VK201, in which the singer was allegedly involved in conduct that violated provisions of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations 2023.

In separate letters to the nation’s chief law officer and the police chief, the NCAA called for immediate legal action in line with all applicable aviation and criminal laws, emphasizing the need to safeguard operational standards across the country’s airspace.

While specific details of the incident are still being compiled, initial reports indicate that the disruption onboard raised serious concerns about passenger behavior and airline safety procedures.

In addition to the development, the Director General of Civil Aviation, Capt. Chris Najomo, has issued an advisory to the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON), recommending the placement of K1 De Ultimate on a No-Fly List for commercial flights, pending the conclusion of investigations.

The advisory, the NCAA stated, is consistent with global aviation practices that prioritize the safety of passengers, crew members, and flight operations.

Reaffirming its stance, the NCAA noted that every passenger, regardless of status or public image, must adhere to the same rules of conduct when flying within Nigerian airspace.

Updates will be issued as the investigation progresses.
