It was a spiritually charged atmosphere at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Dunamis Assembly, Badagry, Lagos State, as the church youths held their special Sunday service tagged “Youth of Impact.”
The sermon, delivered by Sister Modupe Adebanwo, was drawn from 1 Timothy 4:12. She defined youth as a vital phase between childhood and adulthood; a time of strength, vision, and divine potential. She challenged the young people to reflect on how they are using their energy and gifts to make a meaningful impact.
“A youth of impact lives with purpose and faith,” she said, referencing Jeremiah 29:11. She reminded the congregation that true impact begins with obedience to God’s word and trust in His plan.
Citing 1 Peter 4:10, Adebanwo emphasized that every talent must be used to serve others. “Can your lifestyle speak for you? Are you using your gift to serve God and humanity?” she asked.
She urged the youths to remain steadfast, referencing 1 Corinthians 15:58, and drew inspiration from the three Hebrew men who refused to bow to pressure.
Outlining the characteristics of impactful youths, she identified faithfulness, obedience, discipline, purpose-driven living, and positive influence as key virtues. Quoting Daniel 6:10, she encouraged them to be firm in faith like Daniel, disciplined in conduct like Joseph, and courageous like David, who defeated Goliath.
“Youth is your strength; use it to glorify God. The world is waiting for your light to shine,” she said, quoting Matthew 5:15.
The service featured lively praise and worship sessions in various Nigerian languages, question and answer quiz, a soul-lifting drama presentation, and youth thanksgiving.

The event reached its peak with a session of pastoral prayers led by Pastor Alabi, who blessed the congregation and charged the youths to remain steadfast in faith and service to God.
