The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has called on the Nigerian public to intervene and urge the Federal Government to fulfill its commitments before the expiration of a four-week deadline.
The appeal was contained in a statement posted on the union’s official social media platform on October 5, 2025.
ASUU warned that it should not be held responsible if academic activities are disrupted after November 21, when the grace period ends. The union maintained that the government’s failure to act within the stipulated time could trigger a resumption of its suspended strike.
“We call on the press, students, parents, and the public to prevail on the Federal Government to act before the deadline.
ASUU should not be blamed if the suspended strike resumes after November 21, 2025, when the four-week window expires.”
