The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has concluded plans to arraign former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufa’i, alongside two others, over alleged financial crimes before both federal and state high courts in Kaduna.
Details of the planned prosecution were contained in a statement issued on Monday by the Commission’s Head of Media and Public Communications, John Okor Odey.
According to the statement, El-Rufa’i and one Joel Adoga are to appear before the Federal High Court sitting in Kaduna on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, in a suit marked FHC/KD/73/2026. The charges include conversion and possession of public property as well as money laundering.
The anti-graft agency also disclosed that a separate case has been filed against El-Rufa’i and Amadu Sule before a Kaduna State High Court. The suit, numbered KDH/KAD/ICPC/01/26, borders on allegations of abuse of office, fraud, intent to commit fraud, and conferring undue advantage.
The Commission stated that both cases were instituted on March 18, 2026.
“The ICPC wishes to inform the public that Mallam Nasir El-Rufa’i has been duly served,” the statement read.
It added that a date for arraignment in the state high court matter would be announced by the court in due course.
“The ICPC restates its commitment to adhering fully to due process and the rule of law at all times,” the statement added.
