The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed personnel from various states to Osun State ahead of the 2026 governorship election.

Upon arrival in the state earlier today, the operatives were briefed on professionalism, strict adherence to the Rules of Engagement, discipline and respect for citizens’ rights.

The personnel were also reminded of the need to maintain absolute non-partisanship while carrying out their duties throughout the electoral period.

As part of preparations, NSCDC personnel joined sister security agencies for a show of force, reflecting a united security presence ahead of the poll.

The exercise was aimed at demonstrating readiness and collective commitment to a peaceful electoral process.

The deployment also included a media engagement designed to communicate the Corps’ operational posture, strengthen public confidence and encourage responsible information sharing during the election.

The NSCDC said the engagement formed part of measures to ensure a peaceful and orderly electoral environment in Osun State.
