The Olorunda Local Council Development Area has opened applications for its 2026 bursary award, with eligible students given until September 1 to submit their forms.
The council, in a statement issued by the Media Unit of the Office of the Executive Chairman, said the programme is available to undergraduate students pursuing BSc, HND, ND and NCE programmes, as well as postgraduate students.
Applicants, the statement said, are required to complete an online application and upload their admission letter, school identity card, passport photograph, National Identification Number (NIN), letter of identification from a traditional ruler, LASRRA card or any other acceptable identification document, and identification letter from Olorunda LCDA.
The council said each document must be clear and legible, with uploaded files not exceeding 1MB and submitted in either PDF or JPG format. It also stated that applicants would be allowed to submit only one application each.
The application portal opened on Monday, August 24, and is scheduled to close on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
The council further announced that shortlisted applicants would undergo physical screening from September 7 to 9.
According to the statement, candidates attending the screening are expected to present their current academic result, admission letter, school identity card, evidence of indigeneship through a letter from a traditional ruler, NIN and passport photograph.
The administration urged eligible students to take advantage of the scheme and submit their applications before the September 1 deadline.
It also warned applicants to ensure that all required documents are available before attending the screening, stressing that “no excuse will be entertained for incomplete documentation.”
The bursary scheme, the council said, is intended to provide educational support to students within Olorunda LCDA pursuing higher education.
