The Imole Campaign Council has pledged to mobilise 1.5 million votes for President Bola Tinubu in Osun State following Governor Ademola Adeleke’s appointment as presidential campaign coordinator.
The council made the pledge in a statement signed by its Director-General, Senator Kamarudeen Olalere Oyewumi, welcoming Adeleke’s appointment as Osun State Coordinator of the PBAT Presidential Campaign Council.
It described the appointment as well deserved and assured Tinubu that his confidence in the governor’s ability to secure electoral support in Osun would be justified.
The council also declared that all Accord Party structures in the state would work towards Tinubu’s re-election, expressing confidence in their capacity to deliver the promised votes in the forthcoming presidential election.
“The appointment is a well deserved one. We assure the President that his confidence in the ability of Governor Adeleke to deliver Osun in the Presidential election will not be misplaced,” the statement read.
Reiterating its electoral target, the council said: “We promise the President, just like Governor Adeleke had said sometimes ago that we will deliver 1.5million votes to ensure his victory in the coming Presidential election.”
The group urged Osun residents to sustain their support for Adeleke, arguing that backing Tinubu in the presidential election would also amount to supporting the governor.
“Our message to the people of Osun State is to keep trusting and supporting Governor Adeleke as he continues to deliver on his campaign promises. A vote for President Tinubu is a support for Governor Adeleke,” the statement added.
