President Bola Tinubu of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has congratulated his Vice, Kashim Shettima, on his 59th birthday celebration.
He described him as a loyal partner in leadership and a symbol of service to the country.
In a message released from the State House on Tuesday, President Tinubu lauded Shettima’s courage, sense of duty and unshaken commitment to the progress of Nigeria.
“Today presents me with another unique opportunity to celebrate you, my brother, partner, and Vice President, as you mark another birthday,” Tinubu said.
He recalled Shettima’s record in public office, first as Governor of Borno State for eight years and later as Senator representing Borno Central, stressing that in both positions he served with distinction.
“You showed that leadership is service, not privilege, even in the face of immense challenges,” the President noted.
Tinubu expressed appreciation for the Vice President’s loyalty and support, saying his choice of Shettima as running mate was guided by competence and has since been validated.
“Every day, as Vice President, you have justified that choice by strengthening our work, bringing fresh perspectives, and upholding our commitment to Nigerians,” he said.
While staying the roles played by Shettima in the implementation of the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, Tinubu pointed to progress in global partnerships, food security and investment reforms, stressing that the collaboration between both leaders remains central to government achievements.
“In the months ahead, as we unlock new trade corridors and deliver more schools, hospitals, and jobs, our partnership will continue to yield results that Nigerians can see and feel,” the President assured.
Tinubu also described the personal relationship between them as traditions anchored on national interest.
“You remind us of what is possible when Nigeria comes first — an example worthy of emulation by those who aspire to lead,” he said.
On behalf of the nation, Tinubu wished Shettima “renewed vitality, wisdom and more years of impact,” concluding with: “Happy birthday, Kashim, and many happy returns!”
