Defence Minister Christopher Musa has pledged full commitment to his new role in the APC Presidential Campaign Council while maintaining his constitutional duty to national security.
Musa, who was appointed Secretary I of the APC Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 election, expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu and the party leadership for the confidence reposed in him.
The minister described the appointment as “a call to higher service,” promising to carry out the responsibilities of the position with focus and dedication.
He assured APC leaders, stakeholders and supporters nationwide of his commitment to the campaign assignment and the party’s electoral objective.
Musa also drew a clear line between his political responsibility and his duties as Defence Minister, stressing that safeguarding Nigeria’s territorial integrity and protecting citizens remained his primary constitutional mandate.
“National security remains our highest imperative,” he stated.
“The ongoing operations, strategic reforms, and inter-agency collaborations across the defence sector will continue unabated with increased vigour. Our resolve to uphold the mandate of the Ministry of Defence, protect our people, and drive Mr. President’s vision for a safe and prosperous Nigeria remains firm and unshakeable.”
The minister urged APC members and patriotic Nigerians to remain united behind the Tinubu administration, expressing confidence that the party would secure victory at the polls.
Musa’s appointment places him among the senior figures tasked with coordinating the ruling party’s campaign ahead of the 2027 presidential election, while he continues to oversee defence responsibilities.
