The Federal Ministry of Works has opened applications for the 2025 edition of President Bola Tinubu’s Engineering Mentorship Programme, targeting unemployed graduate engineers and skilled artisans across the country.
The recruitment notice was issued by the Federal Ministry of Works as part of President Tinubu’s Engineering Mentorship Programme under the Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at building technical skills through on-site training on federal construction projects.
The ministry said the programme is designed to engage unemployed graduate engineers in civil, mechanical and electrical disciplines, as well as artisans such as masons, carpenters, plumbers, welders, survey assistants and heavy equipment operators, drawn from all local government areas.
Under the scheme, participants will be attached to contractors handling Federal Ministry of Works projects within or close to their regions. They will undergo structured field training, mentorship and temporary engagement while contributing to ongoing federal road and infrastructure works.
The programme will offer monthly stipends, field supervision by registered engineers and certified supervisors, hands-on training at project sites, provision of basic safety gear, and certification on completion. Participants may also receive priority consideration for future government or contractor engagements.
Graduate Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Engineer applicants must be Nigerian citizens aged 18 to 35, hold a degree or HND in a relevant field from a recognised university or polytechnic, be unemployed, and present evidence of NYSC completion, exemption or exclusion. Basic computer skills are required, while familiarity with engineering software is optional.
Artisan categories, including masonry, carpentry, steel reinforcement, plumbing, welding and fabrication, electrical installation, surveying assistance and heavy equipment operation, are open to Nigerians aged 18 to 45 with vocational training, trade test certificates or verifiable experience. Applicants must be unemployed, physically fit for site work and willing to undergo further training and supervised attachment.
Interested candidates are required to send their applications to registryfmw@fmw.gov.ng, using the job title as the subject line. Submissions must include a curriculum vitae, academic credentials, NYSC certificate or exemption letter, passport photograph, valid identification and certificate of local government of origin.
The ministry said shortlisted applicants will be invited for verification and orientation, while the application deadline is Wednesday, December 31, 2025.
