The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has invited applications into its fresh recruitment exercises for academic and non-teaching positions.
As obtained from official platform, the university listed vacancies for Senior Lecturer, Lecturer I, Lecturer II, and Assistant Lecturer in more than 20 faculties and institutes, including Architecture, Arts, Basic Clinical Sciences, Computing, Creative Arts, Dental Sciences, Education, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Health Professions, Law, Management Sciences, Pharmacy, Social Sciences, Media and Communication Studies, the Distance Learning Institute and the Institute of African and Diaspora Studies.
The specialisations is for disciplines such a Architecture, Interior Design, Religious Studies, Pathology, Medicine, Surgery, Nursing, Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Music, Theatre Arts, Dentistry, Engineering, Economics, Geography, African Studies, Journalism, Pharmacy, Law, and fields like Data Science, Bioinformatics, Climate Science and Health Informatics.
Vacancies were also declared in the Registry, Bursary, Works and Physical Planning, Medical Centre, Centre for Information Technology and Systems (CITS), and the UNILAG Staff School. Positions available include Assistant Registrar, Administrative Officers, Accountants, Engineer, Agriculture Officers, Technologist, Technical Assistant, Driver/Mechanic, System Analyst, Medical Officer, Nursing Officer, Pharmacist, Medical Laboratory Scientist, Radiographer, and Master II (Staff School).
The university said applicants must meet the educational and professional requirements for each role. A minimum of five O’Level credits including English and Mathematics, ICT proficiency, and higher academic or professional qualifications are mandatory. Senior Lecturer candidates must have at least six years’ post-qualification experience, while Lecturer I requires a minimum of three years. Medical applicants may also present postgraduate clinical fellowships such as FWACS, FMCOG and FWCAP.
“Only shortlisted applicants will be invited for a computer-based test before the interview stage,” UNILAG stated.
While applications for academic staff are to be submitted online through the university’s portal, non-teaching candidates must forward ten hard copies of their applications with credentials and detailed CVs to the deputy registrar
Salaries and conditions of service, the statement added, are in line with the national minimum wage and existing university regulations.
