Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has announced a major empowerment package for visually impaired gospel artist, Chris Vic, including a ₦100 million music studio, a four-bedroom apartment, a plot of land in Uyo and a monthly allowance of ₦1 million throughout his administration.
The governor made the pledge during an interaction with the singer, where he said he had also directed the Commissioner for Lands to process a plot in Uyo and prepare the Certificate of Occupancy.
He stated: “We will also build him a four-bedroom flat and commit ₦100 million to set up his music studio. This is separate from the cost of the land and the house. In addition, as long as I remain Governor, he will receive a monthly allowance of ₦1 million.”
Pastor Eno described Chris Vic as a reminder that gratitude and praise can thrive even in challenging personal conditions, stressing that his administration remains committed to supporting persons living with disabilities.
He said, “Let this remind us that even in difficult moments, God is still good. Chris Vic shows us that praise is possible in every situation. I also want him, and all persons with disabilities, to know that this government cares.”
In response, the artist narrated how the governor’s intervention came at a moment of severe financial and emotional strain. He disclosed that, only a day earlier, his manager had received a final eviction warning over unpaid rent, leaving them unsure of their next move.
Chris Vic wrote that the governor’s announcement restored his hope and confidence, describing the encounter as divine relief.
He told the governor: “You restored my confidence, lifted my spirit and gave me a testimony I will never forget. Your compassion and fatherly encouragement have written a new chapter in my life.”
He added that the gesture had strengthened his resolve to inspire others facing similar challenges, saying the governor had shown that leadership can be rooted in humanity and empathy.
The pledge has continued to resonate across Akwa Ibom, drawing attention to the state’s growing support for creative talents and persons living with disabilities.
