The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Monday commenced the nationwide display of the Preliminary Register of Voters at its Local Government Area (LGA) offices across the country.

The development was announced in a press release issued by INEC, following the conclusion of the last Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise on December 10, 2025.

INEC urged Nigerians who registered for the first time or updated their voter information during the exercise to visit the LGA office where they registered to confirm that their details were properly captured in the register.

“This verification window gives you the opportunity to identify and correct any errors ahead of the production of the final register,” the commission stated.

The electoral body also reminded the public that another phase of the CVR exercise is scheduled to begin in January 2026, while stressing the role of citizens in protecting the credibility of the electoral process.

“Your participation strengthens transparency and safeguards the credibility of our elections,” INEC said.

Data released by the commission for the fourteenth week of the CVR exercise showed that a total of 2,685,725 Nigerians completed registration, covering both online and physical processes.

Out of the figure, 1,576,137 registrants completed online pre-registration, while 1,109,588 carried out physical registration at designated centres.

The statistics further revealed that 1,508,559 registrants, representing 56 per cent, were females, while 1,177,166 males accounted for 44 per cent.

Young people between the ages of 18 and 34 made up the bulk of new registrants, with 1,974,894 persons, representing 73.53 per cent of the total figure. Students accounted for 831,386 registrants, while 40,154 persons with disabilities were also captured in the exercise.

INEC advised eligible voters to take advantage of the ongoing display to ensure their information is accurate before the final voters’ register is produced.
