Nigerian actor Femi Adebayo, skit maker Adebowale Adedayo, widely known as Mr. Macaroni, and former Kwara State governor who also served as Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, have denounced the armed assault on worshippers at the Christ Apostolic Church in Eruku, Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State.

Their reactions were posted across their verified social media pages, where they expressed concern over the distressing scenes from the attack and called for stronger security measures across the country.

Adebayo shared his shock after watching the incident unfold in a live video.

“Seeing a livestream of people being attacked inside a church in Kwara. That elderly woman struggling to find safety… it tells you everything about where we are right now as a nation. These are human lives. Families, Futures. Dreams Real people. We need to step up our security measures and strategies. This can’t continue anywhere within our country. Nigeria must be better than this. #EndTerroristsKillingInNigeria,” he wrote.

Adebowale Adedayo, popularly called Mr. Macaroni, also expressed deep concern over the rising violence.

“These terrorist attacks concern all of us!! Please don’t think it doesn’t affect you. Whether it happens in the North, South, East or West, it affects all of us!!! We cannot keep quiet while Nigerians are being slaughtered in different parts of the Country! This is madness!!!” he said.

Saraki, who hails from Kwara State, described the incident as a painful disruption to a town known for its calm atmosphere.

“Yesterday, I received the sad news of the terrorist attack on Eruku town in my home State, Kwara. In the terrible incident, some residents were injured while others were kidnapped. It is seriously disturbing news which has disrupted the usually serene and peaceful atmosphere of the town located in the southern part of our dear state,” he stated.

He offered prayers for the affected families and urged security agencies to act swiftly.

“I sympathise with all the victims and their relatives. I pray for Allah’s healing, restoration and strength at this difficult time. I call on the Federal government, particularly the heads of our security agencies, to urgently act to ensure that the kidnapped victims of this sad incident regain their freedom and return home safely to their loved ones,” he added.

Saraki also stressed the need for a sustained security plan for the region.

“The state is one of the gateways into the country and a link between the southern and northern parts. This makes it deserving of a special security arrangement that will not jeopardise our national interest and internal peace. May Allah (SWT) heal our land and help us defeat all those waging wars against Nigeria,” he wrote.
