The statement said all state government offices are to close by 12:00 noon on Tuesday, February 3, 2026.

The approval, the government explained, was given by Governor Seyi Makinde as part of preparations for the golden jubilee celebration tagged OyoStateAt50.

Heads of MDAs were directed to ensure full compliance with the order, while putting in place skeletal services in critical sectors where required.

Babatunde also called for a wide dissemination of the directive to ensure awareness and compliance across the state.

The statement was made available by the Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, and dated February 2, 2026.
