The Nigerian Air Force has announced the commencement of online recruitment for 2026 Basic Military Training Course 47, opening opportunities for eligible Nigerians.
The recruitment exercise, which begins on September 3, 2026, is for Tradesmen/Women and Non-Tradesmen/Women, with applications to be submitted through the NAF recruitment portal.
The Air Force said the exercise is free of charge, warning prospective applicants to study the requirements and application guidelines before completing their forms.
Applicants who successfully complete their applications are required to print their Acknowledgment Form, Parent/Guardians Consent Form and Local Government Area Attestation Form.
The attestation form must be signed by an authorised military or police officer, substantive local government chairman or secretary, or a magistrate from the applicant’s state of origin.
For military signatories, the officer must be from the applicant’s state and not below the rank of Wing Commander in the Air Force or its equivalent in the Nigerian Army or Nigerian Navy. Police signatories must hold the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police or above.
The NAF also requires the attestation form to carry the passport photograph and a photocopy of the signatory’s Driver’s Licence, National Identity Card or International Passport.
It stated that applicants who fail to complete their online applications will not be able to generate the required forms.
For Tradesmen/Women, applicants must be aged between 18 and 27 years by March 1, 2027, while Non-Tradesmen/Women must be between 18 and 22 years by the same date.
Trades applicants with ND or NCE qualifications must have at least a lower credit from accredited institutions, alongside a minimum of five credits, including Mathematics and English, in no more than two sittings in WAEC, NECO, GCE, NABTEB or NBAIS.
Candidates seeking trades requiring a Trade Test must also possess the relevant certificate, while drivers are required to have a valid driving licence.
Sportsmen and sportswomen applying under the Trades category must provide evidence of professional sporting experience, including certificates and medals.
Non-Trades applicants are required to have at least five credits, including Mathematics and English Language, in not more than two sittings, as well as Primary School Certificates and Secondary School Testimonials.
All candidates must be Nigerian citizens by birth and meet the prescribed physical requirements. Male applicants must be at least 1.66 metres tall, while female applicants must be at least 1.63 metres.
The Air Force said candidates must be medically, physically and psychologically fit and satisfy its medical and employment standards. Applicants must also have no previous criminal conviction by a court of law.
Online registration will close on October 14, 2026, while the date for the Zonal General Aptitude Test will be announced through the recruitment portal.
Only candidates who succeed at the relevant stages will be invited for the Selection Interview.
The NAF urged applicants to rely on its recruitment portal for official information and avoid unauthorised agents or payments in connection with the exercise.
