The Osun APC has urged INEC to secure used election materials ahead of possible legal proceedings, amid allegations of manipulation in Saturday’s governorship poll.

The party made the call in a statement signed by its Director of Media and Information, Mogaji Kola Olabisi, on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.

The APC alleged that the Accord Party was making moves to alter materials used during Saturday’s governorship election, claiming that such action was aimed at concealing alleged electoral irregularities.

The party said videos showing alleged malpractice at various polling units and wards had circulated widely, particularly from areas regarded as APC strongholds.

It further alleged that figures on ballot papers were manipulated in favour of Governor Ademola Adeleke, who was declared winner of the election.

The APC claimed it had received information suggesting that efforts were underway to interfere with election materials four days after the poll.

It called on the Osun State Police Command and the Department of State Services (DSS) to investigate the allegation and prosecute any Accord Party agents found to have participated in the alleged acts.

The party also recalled that its Governorship Campaign Director-General, Honourable Wole Oke, said in an interview on Monday that the APC would subject used INEC documents from the election to forensic examination.

The proposed examination, the party said, would establish the “veracity and authenticity” of the governorship result being presented by Adeleke.

“If truly, Governor Adeleke won the governorship election convincingly as he has been making the members of the public to believe, why altering the figures in the custody of the INEC,” the statement asked.

The APC also described the alleged attempt to alter election records as a poor example for young people aspiring to public leadership.

It maintained that the controversy surrounding the election should be subjected to legal scrutiny, saying the matter could eventually be determined by the election tribunal.

The party urged relevant security agencies to act swiftly to preserve the integrity of the election materials and prevent any unauthorised interference with them.
