Governor of the Land of Honour and Integrity (Ekiti State), Mr. Biodun Oyebanji has inaugurated a fully equipped dialysis Centre at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH), a project facilitated by the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, and his wife, Pastor Folu Adeboye, through His Love Foundation.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony in the State’s Capital, Ado-Ekiti, Governor Oyebanji described the project as a powerful example of what can be achieved when religious organizations lend support to public health efforts. He commended the Adeboyes and His Love Foundation for the thoughtful donation, saying it reflects a genuine concern for the well-being of Nigerians.
The Governor, joined by his wife, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, noted that the facility would relieve many kidney patients in Ekiti who previously had to seek treatment outside the state. The dialysis Centre, he said, is a welcome relief and a strategic addition to the state’s healthcare offerings.
Outfitted with modern medical equipment, the Centre boasts three new dialysis machines, dialysis chairs, a water purification unit, and a 50KVA generator, among other components. Governor Oyebanji gave assurance that the government would provide qualified personnel to manage the facility and ensure access for residents within and outside the state.
In his words, “Today marks not just the unveiling of a medical Centre but a symbol of partnership and shared humanity. I extend our deepest appreciation to Pastor Enoch and Pastor Folu Adeboye for their selfless contribution to the people of Ekiti.”
Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji recalled how the idea for the dialysis Centre was born during a courtesy visit by RCCG women to her office two years ago. She later reached out to the Adeboyes for assistance, which they promptly offered. She described the project as a lifeline for individuals struggling with kidney conditions and expressed heartfelt appreciation to the RCCG leaders.
Also speaking at the event, Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Dr. Oyebanji Filani, described health as a critical asset that can be easily lost without proper access to care. He explained that before the new facility was established, the hospital managed about 40 dialysis sessions per month under strenuous conditions. He praised the Governor’s continuous efforts to improve healthcare delivery in the state.
Dr. Filani also acknowledged the contributions of Pastor Adeboye and his wife, stating that their impact extends beyond Ekiti to other parts of the country. He further credited Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji for her role in facilitating the project.
The Chief Medical Director of EKSUTH, Professor Kolawole Olabanji, highlighted the donated items, including dialysis chairs, beds, a water treatment system, and a generator. He commended Governor Oyebanji’s leadership, noting that his support has significantly improved the hospital’s facilities, staff welfare, and service delivery.
Representing Pastor Adeboye at the ceremony, RCCG Continental Overseer, Pastor Johnson Odesola, described the initiative as an expression of the Adeboyes’ enduring commitment to the welfare of Nigerians. He said the gift underscores the value of good health and its importance to community development.
Pastor Odesola expressed confidence that the Centre would strengthen the hospital’s ability to handle critical medical needs and support the broader health goals of the state government.
The commissioning attracted government officials, health professionals, religious leaders, and members of the public, many of whom lauded the collaboration between RCCG and the state in enhancing access to quality medical care.
